Air Filtration and Desiccant Solutions
Contaminants:  particulate, vapors, water

Air-borne particulate contaminants from environmental sources can add to the particulate loading of your finished product.  These wind-borne particles enter your process from open tanks or the vent stacks of your below or above-ground storage tanks.  When you remove liquid from a tank, it must add air to replace the lost volume in the tank.  The rate at which the tank must in-breathe is measured in cubic feet of air per minute (CFM).  In, general, you can determine this in-breathing rate by converting the pump rate measured in gallons per minute (GPM) to CFM.

Liquid Filtration & Separation
Removal of particles from liquid streams can be accomplished using a variety of methods, each with different efficiencies. Separation of solids is initially achieved with gravity methods including, but not limited to, settling tanks and centrifugal  Physical or mechanical separation is accomplished with strainers, surface filtration and depth filtration.  Strainers are use for removal of large particles and to protect critical orifices such as pumps or meters.  Surface filtration includes common media like bag filters or pleated cartridge filters. These filters have efficiencies from 30-40% to absolute (>95%) depending on the media.  Cartridge depth filters are used for certain applications.  Selection of the filtration media and method is specific to each process.

These high-capacity filters and strainers require no flow interruption for servicing.
 

These multi-basket strainers and bag filters offer a wide range of flow capacities and contaminant-holding capabilities. They contain from 2 to 23 baskets.

 To serve as a strainer, a unit is ordered with perforated stainless steel baskets (mesh-lined if desired). When ordered as a filter, it’s fitted with perforated stainless steel baskets designed to hold disposable or cleanable filter bags. Industry-standard size bags are used: the standard 30 inch baskets accept bag size 2, the optional 15 inch baskets take size 1.

The standard pressure rating for all models is 150 psi. All housings can be supplied with an ASME code stamp, if required.

All multi-basket models described here are also available as duplex systems. Two units come piped together with valves to permit continuous use of either unit while servicing the other. One lever actuates all valves simultaneously or it can be ordered for automatic service.
