Organization & Experience
We have seven individuals in our Seattle office involved with Sales,
Inventory, Management, Ordering, Packaging and Shipping. Our sales staff is
technically oriented and has extensive experience in filtration technology. We
stay current with the latest developments through regular training of our staff
by factory technical representatives. We have an experienced administrative
staff to handle order processing, warehousing and shipping.
Customer Service Commitment
D. R. SHANNON COMPANY is committed to providing unprecedented, quality
customer service. We recognize the importance of being able to meet our
customer’s immediate demands. We have a dedicated sales staff who take a
personal interest in providing you with the best service available.
Inventory Management
Our policy is to stock those items in our 6000 sq. ft. warehouse facility
which have turnover of at least every three to four months or require special
inventory considerations due to inherently long lead time. We have successfully
used this policy for the last 25 years on many blanket orders supporting
national and international companies within the refinery and petroleum industry,
aircraft manufacturing industry, airline carrier industry and the health care
industry.
Inventory Levels and Financial Stability
Our current inventory is over $200,000.00 and growing. The growth is
primarily to serve our customers needs in a more efficient manner. We have sound
financing and excellent credit to continue our steady growth. Because of our
long established product lines and stable track record, several of the larger
companies have chosen us to represent their product lines.
Order Processing
We receive a large volume of our orders via fax transmission and E-mail
direct from the refineries and purchasing offices. We regularly provide
acknowledgements and status reports to keep our customers up to date against the
orders. We carry a large stock of filters and usually ship the same day
depending upon the time of day an order is received. Though it changes from week
to week, we ship 75% of all orders the same day. If the stock is not immediately
available to fill the order, the buyer is notified of the actual shipping date.
We have significant leverage with our manufacturers and they are made aware of
our customers with blanket orders and therefore, receive high priority in their
schedules.
Shipping & Packaging
Each package in a shipment is labeled. The label automatically includes the
shipping address and purchase order numbers. Packing slips are computer
generated for every order along with invoices so customer references coincide on
all documents. We view packaging and shipping equally as important as sales.
Vendor Shelving Program
D. R. Shannon offers a Vendor Shelving Program to assist the facility
materials management staff in organizing filtration product usage. Working with
your facility staff, we determine annual and seasonal usage of each item as well
as determine the crucial nature of those items, which must be available in order
to guarantee no loss of production of the facility. Once minimum on hand
quantities are established, we utilize actual usage data as detailed by facility
staff requisition documents to determine restocking on a regular basis, the span
of time of the normal restocking periods are determined by actual usage.
Occasionally, critical items are stocked locally at or near the facility for
rapid emergency response. This will ensure that we are able to sufficiently
stock the critical and long lead-time products in our warehouse in Seattle. We
believe that a relationship of this size works best if the general guidelines
are determined in advance, while both parties work to fine tune the practice as
experience dictates.
